Rachael Waddoups – Occupational Therapist

‘I am a Highly Specialist Paediatric Occupational Therapist, with over 7 years’ experience supporting children and adolescent with Neurodiversity, sensory processing difficulties, mental health difficulties, attachment, and trauma. I have sensory difficulties and Neurodiversity, which helps me empathise with the those I work alongside. I pride myself on providing the support needed to achieve a good quality of life and improve well-being. I work with compassion and kindness to ensure all those feel welcomed and heard when working alongside me.

Training

I completed by BSc Honours degree in Occupational Therapy at The University of Cumbria, Lancaster, and I am regulated by Health Care Professions Council and Royal College of Occupational Therapy. I have specialist training in Sensory Attachment which informs my everyday practice. I trained in ADOS administration and coding in 2016 and have been facilitating assessments since.

I have just begun a Masters in Integrative Psychotherapy at the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute, Nottingham.

About me

Outside of work I enjoy walking, yoga and fitness – that being said I enjoys nothing more than sitting on the sofa wrapped in a blanket with a cup of tea and biscuits. I enjoy music, singing, dancing, photography, being with my friends and family and learning new things.’
