Your questions answered

Starting therapy can be scary and people often have lots of questions. I have tried to answer the most commonly asked questions below.

How many sessions will I need?

Everyone is different and the number of sessions you will require will vary depending on your personal needs. On average, a typical course of CBT is 6-12 sessions. If you choose to engage in therapy, we will regularly review your progress and how you feel sessions are going.

What is CBT?

CBT is cognitive behavioural therapy and is a NICE recognised treatment for many mental health difficulties. CBT looks at the relationship between thoughts, feelings and behaviours, while seeking to understand and alter unhelpful patterns of thinking and behaviour.

What if I need to cancel an appointment?

Life happens and we understand that sometimes you will need to cancel your appointment. Where possible, we ask that you give me 24 hours notice. If this is not possible we can discuss possible payment in relation to your personal circumstances.

Are ASD / ADHD diagnoses recognised by schools and local authorities?

Yes. Our assessments follow the same structure as within the NHS and every assessments contains all the essential components to ensure it adheres to NICE guidelines and is accepted by local authorities including a multi-disciplinary discussion.
